Centro Laudato Si

At Borgo Laudato Si’, 400 Young Catholic Communicators Gather for The Sun Concert.

Borgo Laudato Si’ provided the setting for the closing concert of the Festival of Communication, welcoming around 400 young people from across Italy who gathered in the Diocese of Albano for the initiative promoted by the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI), the Society of Saint Paul, and the Daughters of Saint Paul on the occasion of the World Communications Day.

Opening the evening was Fr. Manuel Dorantes, Administrative and Managing Director of the Laudato Si’ Higher Education Center, who, in his greeting to the young participants, emphasized the true value of communication and the uniqueness of every person: “The most beautiful content you will ever offer the world will never be a perfect algorithm, a viral reel, or an impeccable profile. The greatest gift is you — your presence, your voice, your heart.” His message was warmly received by the young audience, who were encouraged to be a “light” both in the digital world and in everyday life.

The stars of the evening were The Sun, one of Italy’s best-known Christian music bands, who brought their music and personal testimony to the stage, engaging the young participants in an intense moment of communion and shared experience.

Throughout the Festival, participants took part in talks, workshops, and activities dedicated to the theme of responsible digital communication, reflecting on the importance of approaching social media and digital environments with awareness and authenticity. Many of the young people attending were also involved in the Shine To Share project promoted by the CEI.

The final evening at Borgo Laudato Si’ brought together spirituality, communication, and music in a powerful and engaging experience, leaving the young participants inspired to continue “communicating goodness” in their everyday digital lives.
