Borgo Laudato Si’ Hosts Hundreds for Annual Peace March

Speech Dorantes – 20.2.26Today at Borgo Laudato Si’ the traditional Peace March was held in memory of the victims of the bombings on 10 February 1944, when the town of the Castelli Romani and the Vatican State building of Propaganda Fide were hit by a violent air raid during the Italian campaign following the Allied landing at Anzio.

The Vatican State opened the doors of the Papal Villas, offering protection and shelter to around 12,000 people seeking refuge from the bombs.

Hundreds gathered today at Borgo Laudato Si’ to remember and to pray for all the victims of wars still ongoing around the world.
It was a moment of reflection and contemplation that brought together many students, citizens, and communities from the Castelli Romani in a spirit of fraternity.
