Pope Leo XIV’s Summer at the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo

On the afternoon of Sunday, July 6, and until the afternoon of July 20, the Pope will move to the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo “for a period of rest.” He will return there again from August 15 to 17.

This was announced today by the Prefecture of the Papal Household.

On Sunday, July 13, at 10:00 a.m., Pope Leo XIV will celebrate Mass at the Pontifical Parish of St. Thomas of Villanova in Castel Gandolfo, followed at 12:00 p.m. by the Angelus prayer in Piazza della Libertà, in front of the Apostolic Palace.

On Sunday, July 20, at 9:30 a.m., the Holy Father will celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of Albano, and at 12:00 p.m. he will recite the Angelus in Piazza della Libertà in Castel Gandolfo. In the afternoon, the Holy Father will return to the Vatican.

In August, Pope Leo will again return to Castel Gandolfo: on Friday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m., he will celebrate Holy Mass at the Pontifical Parish of Castel Gandolfo, followed at 12:00 p.m. by the Angelus in Piazza della Libertà. On Sunday,

August 17, the Angelus will again be prayed at 12:00 p.m. in Piazza della Libertà. In the afternoon, the Holy Father will return to the Vatican.
